Prisoner dies in Remand

An investigation is underway regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of a remand prisoner in Lautoka yesterday.

The victim was in remand yesterday morning at the Lautoka Corrections Center when he said he was not feeling well and was taken to the Lautoka Hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, he was pronounced dead by Health officials.

A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death as investigations continue.
