Woman dies following Road Accident

A woman in her 20s died following an accident along the Careras Votualevu in Nadi yesterday.

The woman was a passenger in a bus driven by a 45 year old man, and it is alleged he lost control of the bus causing it to veer off the road.

The victim died at the scene of the accident while a man also in his 20s from Careras Nadi is admitted at the Lautoka hospital in serious condition.

Seven other passengers are admitted at the Nadi Hospital while the driver is currently in custody at the Namaka Police Station as investigations continue.

The road death toll currently stands at 5 compared to 14 for the same period last year.
