Police Commissioner chairing the PICP meeting in Sydney, Australia

The Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho is currently in Sydney, Australia chairing the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP) Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meeting.

Convened at the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM) facilities, Manly, Sydney, the meeting discussed the new PICP Strategic Plan and governance proposal to be endorsed at the full session of the 50th PICP Conference to be hosted in Nadi, Fiji around August 2020.

The meeting also discussed activities reports for the 7 key PICP Programs delivered in the region with specific focus on forensics, Road safe Pacific, Family & Gender Harm, Cyber safety, Pacific Police Training initiatives and other key initiatives including the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC) concept.

The Commissioner of Police also held bilateral discussions with the AFP Commissioner discussing police cooperation and future directions for increased exchanges on law enforcement on the margins of the PICP ELT meeting.
