29 year old farmer charged for assaulting an officer on duty

A 29 year old farmer will be appearing at the Nadi Magistrates Court this afternoon after he allegedly assaulting an officer while on duty over the weekend.

The officer was attending to a report of drunk and disorderly in Nadi and in the process got assaulted and also had his uniform damaged.

The suspect was charged with one count each of Serious Assault and Damaging Property.
