Cyber Crime Training Opportunities


The Korean Ambassador to Fiji His Excellency Mr Park Young-Kyu has reiterated his Government's commitment in ensuring police to police cooperation efforts continued to be explored amidst challenges brought about by the global pandemic.

The Korean Ambassador made the statement during a courtesy call to the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho conducted via video conferencing.

Ambassador Park said through the Korean National Police Agency, intentions to pursue training opportunities in specialized areas of policing remained high despite challenges brought about by the global pandemic.

One specific area of online training discussed was capacity building for Cybercrime investigations which is expected to begin next month.

Ambassador Park said relations between Fiji and the Republic of Korea were built on respect, and although the training packages were put together by the Korean National Police Agency, they welcomed the exchange of ideas to be able to strengthen training concepts for the Fijian Police Force.

The Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho conveyed the institution's appreciation for the ongoing support, adding once the Memorandum of Understanding is finalized, relations will be further boosted with both Fijians and Korean Nationals benefiting through increased level of security cooperation.
