Support Appreciated

The Fiji Police Force has hailed the efforts of a group of businessmen who have shown the true veilomani Fijian spirit.

The message was relayed by the Director Community Policing Senior Superintendent of Police Bereta Naisua at the opening of the Veiwekani Taxis Base in Nadera this morning.

As well as the official opening of the base the Directors of Veiwakani Taxis and Commercial Motors Mr Daniel Sharma, Tough Rentals and Lami Tyres Director Mr Vikash Harakh and Operations Manager Mr Viliame Turagavou also handed over a new vehicle to dual Olympic Gold Medalist Jerry Tuwai.

SSP Naisua said the Fiji Police valued the contribution of the business communities and have always appreciated the support from members of the taxi industry.

“Members of the taxi industry have been great allies in our community policing efforts”.

“Taxi operators have and continue to assist police operations with the sharing of information whereby cases have been detected and perpetrators of crime arrested through your help”.

SSP Naisua said it was also an honour to share the same platform with dual Olympic Gold Medalist Jerry Tuwai and extended an invitation to work with Police through the Duavata Community Policing through Sports initiative.

“Your story is one that shows what can be achieved when you have a great support system and hard work”.

“Sports as witnessed during your Olympics campaign was a great unifying tool and it is our hope that you will assist us in our Duavata Community policing through sports initiative as you will have a major impact in our crime preventative efforts”.
