Man reported missing after departing Lautoka wharf for Saweni

A man was reported missing after failed to reach his destination yesterday afternoon.

It was reported that the man who captained a red fiberglass were believed to have been missing after departed Lautoka wharf for Saweni together with few others in a separate boats.

The five captains reached safely while the man is still missing.

The Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu is seriously concerned about those that disregard warnings and advisories putting the lives of our officers at risk in terms of search and rescue.

He warned members of the public that those found to have disregard warnings and advisories will be taken to task for disobedience of lawful order.

Police once again reiterated the need for members of the public to be mindful of the current weather situation and take all the necessary precautions.
