Stay away from flooded waters

The Fiji Police Force is pleading with members of the public to be more cautious during this time of inclimate weather and heavy rain.

This is after the Nadi weather office predicts more rain in most parts of the country.

Chief of Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police [ACP] Abdul Khan said people need to stay clear of flooded areas and is requesting parents and guardians to keep a close watch on little ones and keep them out of harm’s way.

“We have found a lot of children playing and left unsupervised in flooded areas and please be reminded that we don’t want to arrest anyone due to disobedience of lawful order however if people continue to disregard our instructions, we will arrest them.”

ACP Khan continues to request members of the public to listen to advisories and avoid all forms of water-related activities for their safety.
