Meet Esala Delana

Originally from Malomalo Village in Nadroga.

The 38-year-old man is part of the Western Division Community Policing Symposium currently undertaking in Lautoka.

He represents the Nadroga, Navosa Provincial Youth Council, and is passionate about empowering youth in the province because of his past personal experiences.

He was raised single-handed and at times easily swayed into breaking the law.

He added many youths that he served are hurt because of their upbringing, and empowering them to overcome these challenges is what drives him through the cruel terrains of Nadroga and Navosa.

“I ride horses, walk for hours, and cross rivers just to get to our youths in our area.

Sometimes, when I feel like giving up, I remind myself that I am here to provide hope to all those young people who are hurting,” said Mr. Delana.

The Nadroga man said he was fortunate enough to be selected for the Symposium as it broadens his knowledge on some crime prevention aspects which he will cascade down to the youth within his area of operation.
