Mou signing between fpf & scc

The Suva City Council (SCC), Nasinu Town Council (NTC) and the Fiji Police Force (FPF) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing cooperation and coordination in key areas of enforcement and public safety within the two municipalities.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu acknowledged the efforts by the two municipalities who are taking proactive safety measures to look after their rate payers.

"We acknowledge this wonderful initiative and fully support the MOU. We will continue to render our support through our community policing efforts," said Mr Tudravu.

Under the MOU, the SCC and FPF have committed to working together to curb crime and enhance public safety measures within the Suva and Nasinu areas.

SCC Acting Chief Executive Officer Tevita Boseiwaqa said, “By working hand in hand with the Fiji Police Force, we aim to strengthen our enforcement efforts, improve city-wide security, and enhance public confidence in our institutions. Through this partnership, both organisations seek to build a safer, more secure urban environment while reinforcing public trust on the Council’s enforcement capabilities."

Nasinu Town Council Special Administrator Felix Magnus said this was a proud day for Nasinu as their working relationship with the Fiji Police Force has now been formalised.

“This is a great day for FPF, Suva and Nasinu. We had invited the Community Policing to our meetings and through this, we came up with this MOU. Our joint Operations with Police will continue for the safety of all our rate payers,” said Mr Magnus.

Part of the MOU will be the upgrade and maintenance of all Community Posts on Suva City Council and Nasinu Town Council owned land.
