More drugs seized


An afternoon raid conducted by the Southern Division's Serious Orgarnized Crime and Intelligence Department resulted in the arrest of a man believed to be involved in the sale and distribution of marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu said the raid conducted in Caubati, led to the arrest of a 40-year-old suspect following the discovery of several dried branches and leaves wrapped in aluminium foil believed to be marijuana.

The raid was conducted shortly after lunch today.

ACP Driu said the Fiji Police Force is committed to its role in the Counter Narcotics Framework of supply reduction, focusing on disrupting networks involved in the distribution of illicit substances.

The suspect was taken into custody, with all seized substances sent for analysis.

ACP Driu is urging members of the public to report or share information regarding those involved in the illicit drug trade through Crimestoppers on 919 or 917.
