ANZPAA CONFERENCE

The Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew recently attended the 2023 @Austalia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) Conference held at the Melbourne convention Centre.

The ANZPAA is an annual meeting of Australian State Commissioners of Police and the NZ Police Commissioner, where the police chiefs come together to build stronger strategic relationships with stakeholders both domestically and internationally.

Guided by the values of trust, innovation, quality, flexibility, accountability and teamwork, Fiji’s Acting Commissioner of Police was invited to be a panelist alongside the Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu Police Commissioners, where discussions revolved around regional policing challenges within the Indo Pacific region.

Keynote addresses from subject matter experts and panel discussions led by various Commissioners of Police in attendance were the main format of discussions, with breakaway sessions on specific topics ranging from the complexity of Policing challenges and innovative Policing concepts developed, and Policing challenges brought about by Climate change.

Acting Commissioner Chew also held discussions with counterparts from the region.

The ANZPAA was established through agreement of the Police Commissioners across Australia and New Zealand in 2007.

He was accompanied by Dir International Relations Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula.
