Commissioner's Cup Challenge

The Southern Division rugby side came out victorious over the Eastern Division in the first Commissioner’s Cup Challenge this afternoon.

The Eastern Side was leading the first half of the game by 12 - 10, but the Southern team came out firing in the second half beating the East by 31 - 20.

While presenting the trophy to the winning side the Acting Commissioner of Police Sakeo Raikaci thanked the organizing committee for hosting the important sporting event.

“I thank you all for working together in successfully completing the first leg of the Commissioner’s Cup Series.

These matches will give players an opportunity to showcase their talent in their hope of donning the blue jersey during the Ratu Sukuna Challenge”, he said.

“Today both teams demonstrated fair play rugby and I encourage players to continue being good sportsmen. Currently we are the defending champions for the Ratu Sukuna Bowl and I encourage all players to work hard to win it again,” he added.

The next Commissioner’s Cup Challenge will see Southern Division play against the Northern Division.
