Meet Regional Recruits training at FPA

With 3 weeks to go before the completion of their 12 weeks of Basic Recruit Training, the Police Recruits from Nauru Police Force and Tuvalu police service say they are enjoying their time spent in training at the Fiji Police Academy (FPA).

Two of the regional recruits said their training so far has been challenging and tough but they are enjoying every minute of it.

β€œIt is tough but I am enjoying it,” says Police Constable Samuel Tatanoun of Nauru Police Force.

The 21 year old recruit, is part of the 16 police recruits from Nauru.

Police Constable Nukai George of Tuvalu Police Service said the training so far, will help him in his policing career in Tuvalu.

β€œI love it, Tuvalu is not as big as Fiji but I hope that all the training I have received so far I will apply and maintain it in Tuvalu,” the 40 year old said.

The regional police recruits had participated in a Longest Day exercise with all of the 185 police recruits from the FPA on Thursday and Friday which saw them march 37 kilometers through some rough terrains and resting only for a few short hours.

There are 16 officers from Nauru and 10 officers from Tuvalu that are currently undergoing the 12 weeks recruits training program at the Academy, that will end on May 19th.
