Meet your officers

Meet Corporal (Cpl) Lisa Pauriasi based at the Rotuma Police Station who has been serving on the Island for the past 16 years.

Cpl Lisa joined the organisation in 2007 as a Special Constable, and in 2008 she was absorbed into the Regular Constabulary and underwent basic recruit training in 2009.

Originally from Hapmak Village in Rotuma the mother of 7 says despite its challenges, she enjoys serving on the island.

“Its a small community and I know most people that live on the Island and this makes my work easier.

However whenever someone breaks the law despite our knowing each other, we still have to charge and produce them to Court,” Cpl Lisa said.

Cpl Lisa said the cases she normally receives at the Station are usually related to domestic disputes or land disputes.

Educated at Rotuma High School, the 47-year-old Corporal has maternal links to Malha’a village.

“I attended Malha’a Primary School and then went to on attend secondary school at Rotuma High School up to form 6, and apart from my formal education here, the other courses I have done are the Fiji police qualifying courses,” she said.

“I always look forward to carrying out further courses in the Police Academy when given the chance to do so,” she added.

Cpl Lisa is one of 9 police officers serving close to 2000 people on Rotuma.
