“It is very important for teachers and parents to work together to give children the best opportunity possible”.
This was the plea made by Inspector Mereani Vasakula during the Nakelo District Kindergarten Fun Day earlier this week.
IP Vasakula who had recently returned from tour of duty in South Sudan was also the first Fijian Woman to hold the United Nations Police Women’s Network Deputy Chair post and was also honoured for her progressive and contributions to empowering local women in South Sudan, was invited to open the school's Fun Day on Thursday.
While addressing those present, IP Vasakula said it was important to get parents, guardians and the community involved as a child’s educational foundation is laid at this age.
IP Vasakula also acknowledged kindergarten teachers for their commitment in their critical role in nurturing a child at the beginning of their formal education life.
