Pacific Police Development Program

The Coordinator of the Australian Federal Police’s (AFP) Pacific Police Development Program – Regional (PPDP-R), Superintendent of Police (SP) Katherine Pokingholm and the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC) Delivery Coordination Team Leader Ms Jodie Holz called on the Director International Relations Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula at the Fiji Police Headquarters yesterday.

The Pacific Police Development Program – Regional supports AFP’s police partners in the Pacific through regional coordination efforts in training and leadership development programs as part of the AFP’s commitment to promoting safety and security of Pacific communities.

Fiji Police’s Director International Relations SSP Ravula provided an overview brief on the work conducted with ‘vuvale’ partner AFP Senior Liaison Officer (Pacific) Superintendent of Police Adrian Morton in supporting regional efforts in the delivery of PCLEC initiatives.

SP Pokingholm also visited the PCLEC Fiji Chapter which was opened in 2020 due to the pandemic where the Delivery Coordination Team (DCT) has been operating remotely from.

The Fiji Police Force has been involved in PCLEC since its design stages in 2019 and to date has seconded seven Police officers to the DCT supported by the AFP.

The PCLEC-DCT is responsible for administering the work of PCLEC from project research and initiation, planning, monitoring as well as advocacy and representation in various Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police jurisdictions.
