The Commissioner of Police has assured the Country Director KOICA Fiji Office ??? ?? ???, of the Fiji Police’s support in ensuring the safety and security of their volunteers.
Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho met with the Country Director Mr Kapchae Ra, Mr Sandong Lee the Vice Consul at the Korean Embassy, Mr Yonghoon Kim KOICA Fiji Safety and Security Officer and Ravneet Kumar Office Program Officer.
The meeting was a follow up from the Fiji Police Force Outreach Meeting with the Korean Community held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva early this month.
Mr Kapchae Ra said he appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Commissioner of Police and senior officers soon after the Outreach Meeting.
“We appreciate the support of KOICA's activities.
We are implementing several projects not only for our volunteers and training but infrastructure projects and we are looking to invite Korean experts and we need support from you”.
Mr Ra also informed the Commissioner that the FPF, if needed could also benefit from KOICA’s programs.
“If Police need to receive volunteers specialized in I.T or other fields we are happy to receive the needs and we will deliver them to our Headquarters”.
The Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Qiliho assured Mr Ra of the Fiji Police’s support.
“We normally conduct briefings for volunteers from other countries as well and we will be happy to do that for your volunteers too”.
“At the end of the day we want to keep everybody, Fijians, all visitors, volunteers and workers safe”.
Also in attendance were the Director International Relations (SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula, Director Coordination Superintendent of Police (SP) Ilaitia Caginavanua and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Maria Serukalou of the Strategic and Planning Office.
