Opening of Basic Recruit Course Batch 63


The Basic Recruits Course Batch 63 was officially opened this morning by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair.

One hundred and eighty nine recruits are undertaking the 12-week course at the Fiji Police Academy in Nasova.

The Deputy Commissioner in addressing the new recruits said the foundation of policing is based on trust.

He said members of the public need to be able to trust Police in order for a successful partnership in working together to make our communities and country safe.

The Deputy Commissioner said Policing was about being of service to others, and when the recruits marched in on the 6th of March 2022, they had signed away a part of their lives to the people they serve and nation.

DCP Nair reminded the officer's of the importance of maintaining a disciplined life.

He urged the new recruits to inmerse themselves in learning, as their Academy instructors would for the next three months equip them with the necessary knowledge to prepare them for a life of service that would be both demanding and challenging.

He stressed the importance of being respectful and professional and to know that respect for the uniform can only be earned if they treat others with respect.
