Six new vehicles fitted with communication systems where members of the public living in the Samabula, Nabua and Suva areas can directly reach officers travelling inside the vehicle at any given time for emergencies were this week handed over to the heads of the Southern and Central Divisions.
The Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho while handing over the mobility assets reminded the officers of the importance of maintenance and care as the vehicles will be instrumental in routine Police Operations and in the build up to the General Elections.
He emphasised the importance of supervision and proper utilisation as the vehicles provided by Government are to be used to serve members of the public and those holding supervisory roles must see to it.
The vehicles have been fitted with communication systems where members of the public can reach the officers in the vehicle at any given time for quick response time.
Of the six vehicles, two will be utilized by the Samabula Police Station, 1 for Nabua and two for the Central Police Station while the 6th will be based at the Police Headquarters at the Vinod Patel building in Nasinu.
