Course for Senior Middle Managers


Efforts in enhancing leadership capacities of Fijian Police Officers holding senior middle management posts is currently underway in Suva with the support of the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM) through the Pacific Faculty of Policing (PFP).

Fifteen Fijian Police Officers from the North, West, South and Eastern Divisions are undergoing the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management program delivered through the Australia Pacific Training Coalition in Suva.

The Certificate IV in Leadership Program is an internationally recognized qualification accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the national regulator for Australia’s vocational education and training (VET).

Director International Relations Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula said the program was endorsed by the AIPM as part of the capacity building programs for the cadre of Fijian Police officers.

SSP Ravula on behalf of Fiji’s Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho acknowledged the support of regional partners in providing opportunities for Fijian Police officers to enhance their leadership and management capabilities.

He adds the 5-month program augurs well with the organisation’s intent of providing training and educational opportunities for its future leaders.

The five-month program is being delivered online and the officers will meet at the beginning of every new month for face to face learning.
