New Vehicle for Cuvu

A new vehicle was handed over to officers manning the Cuvu Community Post with a reminder that members of the public would expect an increased level of service delivery.

The reminder was issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair who earlier this week handed over the new vehicle to the Divisional Police Commander West Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tomu Bulimaibau and witnessed by senior officers, traditional and community leaders, stakeholders and members of Crime Prevention Committees.

DCP Nair said maintaining the trust and support of members of the public could only be successfully achieved if officers remained loyal and honest in the conduct of their work and this also included the proper utilisation of resources such as the vehicle.

The Deputy Commissioner said the Government understands the demands placed on policing by providing the mobility assets, and the onus was on officers to ensure the vehicles are used for its intended purpose of serving the community and nothing else.

DCP Nair acknowledged the support of community leaders, adding that Policing would be challenging without the support and partnership of members of the community.

Earlier this week, similar handing over ceremonies were held for the Namarai and Raviravi Community Posts.
