New Vehicle for Raviravi

Police officers manning the Raviravi Community Post have been reminded to maximize the use of a new Police vehicle for the sole purpose of improving service delivery and maintaining the trust and confidence of members of the public.

The message was reiterated by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair while handing over a new Police vehicle to the Divisional Police Commander West Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tomu Bulimaibau for the Raviravi Community Post yesterday afternoon.

Present also during the handing over ceremony was the Tui Ba Ratu Filimoni Lagivala, Crime Prevention Committee Presidents and representatives, senior Police officers and members of the community.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police acknowledged the support of the vanua and religious leaders in being present to witness the handing over.

“The presence of traditional and religious leaders today shows what Community Policing is all about and half the battle has already been won here, but we need to see how to maintain, strengthen and grow the partnership and reach other members of this community”.

“We thank the Government of the day for the new vehicle and the onus is on the officers based at the Raviravi Community Post to utilize this mobility asset to improve service delivery and reduce complaints against service”.

Deputy Commissioner Nair said maintaining trust will be dependent on how the officers are able to manage the use of the new vehicle.

“The added mobility boost is to be used wisely so you can gain and maintain the trust and confidence of members of your community so that they know that we are here to serve and reach them when needed”.
