Breach of COVID-19 restrictions


Twenty nine people were arrested for breaching Health and Curfew related restrictions in the last 24 hours.

Eastern Division recorded the highest with 13 arrests, Southern and Western recorded 06 cases each while four cases were recorded in the North.

Social Gathering continues to be a concern.

In the Eastern Division four people were arrested at Waituri and three at Levuka Town for drinking alcohol.

Six were arrested at Baulevu, Nausori for drinking grog. In the Southern Division six people were arrested in Kinoya for drinking home brew.

In the Western Division, 2 were arrested at Lovu, Lautoka and two in Votualevu, Nadi for loitering during curfew hours.

Two youths were arrested in Rakiraki for drinking alcohol.

Three people in the North were arrested for loitering during curfew hours after a drinking party.

Social gatherings involving alcohol and yaqona continue to be major factors of restriction breaches.

The Fiji Police Force is again pleading with all Fijians to avoid all forms of social gathering.
