Prioritize Children Safety

The Fiji Police Force is calling on members of the public to seriously take heed of the weather being forecasted for the next few days.

As more rain is expected, the Fiji Police is calling on people living in flood prone and low lying areas to make necessary arrangements and move to higher ground.

Fiji Police Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan said flooding is expected as forecasted by the weather office.

ACP Khan said this is the time when parents need to be with their children or ensure proper supervision under the care of a responsible adult at all times.

"Flooding is forecasted and we are calling on all parents and guardians to ensure their children are indoors and well supervised at all times.

We cannot let our guard down when it comes to our children and our officers will also be around patrolling flooded areas,” said ACP Abdul.

The weather office says a flash flood warning also remains in force for all low lying and flood prone areas of vanua Levu and areas from Nadi, Lautoka, Ba to Korovou.
