Eight (8) people will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today (Friday 26th September, 2025), while two (2) will be appearing at the Nadi Magistrates Court, in relation to the alleged discovery of methamphetamine during multiple joint raids conducted in the Central, Southern and Western Divisions.l
The 10 were charged following consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
In relation to the Flagstaff raid, a Fijian and foreign national have been jointly charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs, and one count of Possession of Property suspected of being proceeds of crime under the Proceeds of Crimes Act.
In relation to the first raid conducted at a home in Rewa Street, three foreign nationals have been jointly charged with one count of Unlawful possession of Illicit drugs, and one count of Possession of Property suspected of being proceeds of crime under the Proceeds of Crimes Act.
In relation to the second raid at a home in Rewa Street, a Fijian and two foreign nationals, have been jointly charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of Illicit Drugs.
One of the foreign nationals is facing an additional charge of Prohibited Immigrant Contrary to Section 13(a)(b) and (2)(a) of Immigration Act, 2003.
The second foreign national is facing an additional charge of Possession of Property suspected of being proceeds of Crime - Section 70 of POCA 1997.
The two foreign nationals suspected to be connected to the accused persons arrested in the Southern Division, and were intercepted in Namaka, have been jointly charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of Illicit Drugs.
All accused persons will be produced in Suva and Nadi today.
