Closing of the Gender in Policing training

Today marked the conclusion of the four-day Gender in Policing training, featuring a powerful closing address from Senior Superintendent of Police Ulaiasi Ravula, the Fiji Police Director of International Relations.

SSP Ravula delivered an inspiring message to the female officers, encouraging them to believe in themselves and embrace their uniqueness. He emphasized the invaluable strengths that female officers contribute to the force, highlighting qualities such as a maternal touch and a sisterly bond, which are especially meaningful for comrades returning from missions.

Additionally, he reaffirmed the Fiji Police Force’s strong commitment to gender equality, ensuring that female officers have equal access to training and opportunities, including participation in UN peacekeeping missions.

This training reinforced a crucial message: female officers provide unique and essential perspectives to the communities they serve. Your self-belief and individuality are your greatest strengths. We encourage you to connect with your PCLE national coordinators and become ambassadors for change.
