Facilitated by the UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji through the support of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the New Zealand High Commission, Suva, Fiji the Fiji Police's Gender Action Plan under the Fiji Police Force Support Project members of the Fiji Police Women’s Advisory Network are meeting in Suva to indentify challenges for women in policing and come up with solutions on how to overcome personal and professional challenges.

The women officers will meet for two days at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva where the office bearers will also be briefed on the outcomes of the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Women's Advisory Network meeting and draft a national action plan outlining the Association’s short, medium and long term goals.

Facilitated by UNDP Gender Specialist Maria Plata, the intent of the meet is to get everyone's views and unravel the challenges faced and come up with recommendations on the way forward for women in policing.

Fiji Police Women's Advisory Network National Coordinator Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bereta Naisua is hoping the two days will allow the women officers to speak freely and discuss workable solutions to issues faced for women in policing.
