ANZPAA Conference

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan, Chief of Internal Affairs and Professional Standards (CIAPS) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sakeo Ganivatu and Fiji Police Academy Commandant Superintendent of Police (SP) Aseri Nakibo recently attended the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) Police Conference in Melbourne, Australia.

Held from 8 – 9 November, the Conference was hosted by Police Commissioners from across Australia and New Zealand with the theme “Navigating the next generation of policing”.

The Conference focuses on complex and emerging challenges facing policing whilst exploring a wide range of opportunities.

According to the ANZPAA, the conference gives senior level managers the opportunity to look at policing today for a new tomorrow, addressing drivers of criminal behaviour, responsive policing, recruiting the next generation of talent and new contexts for criminal activity.

It was also an opportunity to see how to effectively utilize technology in keeping communities safe, work smarter and harder with efficiency and collectively with world-leading external partners.

The PC22 brought together policing’s best from across the globe to share their unique experiences, leading research and wisdom from careers in policing, forensic sciences, academia, industry and more.

The ANZPAA is the central strategic policy, research and cross-jurisdictional coordination agency for policing jurisdictions across Australia and New Zealand.
