The Police Special Response Unit hosted the Police Headquarter's Fun Day and Inter-formation tournament. It was also an opportunity to prepare for the Women’s Netball and Volleyball Inter-Formation Competition, which is set to take place on October 5th and 6th, 2022.
PSRU defeated Operations HQ in the volleyball competition by 2 straight sets, while Police HQ triumphed in the netball competition 8–6.
Deputy Director of Community Policing and Assistant Superintendent of Police Salaseini Vakatuturagani concluded the competition by encouraging the female officers to continuously pursue excellence.
"Talent alone won't get you very far.
What will determine success in any competition, whether it be in athletics or attaining your own goal, is mental toughness, a competitive will to achieve well, and a dedication to the long hours of training,".
The most disciplined team was awarded to Operations HQ, Best Dressed Team FPA & Corporate Services, Best Player Sergeant Milinia Vuniwaqa.
Retired officers Mr. Sakaraia Vakaturagani and Mrs. Vaseva Tuvuki were also present at the ceremony and supported the officers by presenting awards.
