The late Police Constable 3467 Waqa Vakaloloma was a dedicated officer at the Prisoners Management Team (PMT) where he served until his untimely passing on Wednesday 14th September 2022.
These were the words of accolades of his former Officer in Charge (OC) of Ba District namely Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Riyaz Mohammed.
“He served in the PMT before his death and he was so dedicated to his work that never once did any prisoner or arrested suspect escape from his custody", ASP Mohammed said.
“He was a good team player and this is evident in his Ba Police Team where he played a crucial role in defeating the Nadi Police Team,” he added.
The late PC Vakaloloma joined the Fiji Police Force as a Special Constable on the 19th of July 2005 he was absorbed into the Regular Force when he underwent police basic recruit training.
During his 17years of service PC Vakaloloma had served in various units of the Force including Police Academy, Ba Police Station and Rakiraki Police Station.
The Fiji Police Force Delegation paid their last respects to the family of their fallen comrade at their family home in Votua village Ba which was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair, where PC Vakaloloma’s family, relatives, and friends had gathered to mourn his passing.
His funeral service was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Police and the Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, Assistant Commissioner of Police Surend Sami and the Divisional Police Commander West, Senior Superintendent of Police Tomasi Bulimaibau and members of his command group.
Considered as a great team player at work, a loving father at home, a humble and dedicated Christian at his Rainbow Christian congregation at Votua village, PC Waqa was 50 years old at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife and 5 children.
