Robberies Suspect Arrested

An early morning route march by officers based at the Navua and Lami Police Stations yesterday resulted in the quick arrest of a man alleged to be involved in a series of robberies in the Navua area.

Chief Operations Officer (COO) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan says the officers had gathered at Pacific Harbour for their morning work, when a report of a house break-in was received after 3am.

A team was deployed to the residence where they gave chase and apprehended the suspect.

The suspect resides in Narere but is believed to have been camping in the Pacific Harbour area and working at a construction site.

ACP Khan said full recoveries of items allegedly stolen were made by the arresting team. He adds investigators are also looking into other robbery cases in the Navua area where the suspect is alleged to be involved in.

Investigations continue.
