New Command Center for north

#Vinakavakalevu to our #Vuvale partners Australia and the support of the Australian Federal Police, the Northern Division is the first Division to have a modern advanced Command and Coordination Centre similar to the National Command Centre in Suva.

AFP Senior Liaison Officer (Pacific) Detective Superintendent Adrian Morton during the official opening this morning said, "This is about friendship, I'm a police officer like the men and women in this room and I understand them completely, whether you're policing in Australia, New Zealand, Suva or Labasa its our way of protecting the community".

"We know that it's not an easy job and a thankless job, but it's things like this here that can make us better at what we do, better at coordinating what we do, and bringing leadership and high level thoughts around to be able to coordinate in the most trying of times to succeed for the community".

Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho thanked the Australian Government through the Australia in Fiji High Commissioner H.E. John Feakes and the Australian Federal Police Commissioner for supporting the work of the AFP team in Suva and enabling the partnership between the two organisations to grow.

"This is another platform that will help in delivering service to people not only for policing but during national disasters and events and assist stakeholders and the people which is the important element of our work".

Former and retired Divisional Police Commanders and community partnership stakeholders were also present to witness the opening of the new Command Centre.
