28 year old farmer charged with one count each of Abduction and Defilement

A 28 year old farmer will be produced at the Nausori Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with one count each of Abduction and Defilement.

It is alleged the accused eloped with the 17 year old student on the day she was missing from home [31st Dec].

On the above date the accused who is a farmer met the victim and took her to his brother’s place in Nasinu and stayed with her.

The victim was reported missing by the village headman on the 1st of Jan at Korovou Police Station and upon searching police found her staying with the accused who was subsequently arrested.
