Several arrests for alleged cases of unlawful possession of illicit drugs were recorded over the last 48 hours.
Arrests recorded within the Southern Division were at the Wailea Settlement in Vatuwaqa, Tamavua and Narere.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu said a woman in her 20s and a man in his 30s were arrested at Wailea Settlement following the discovery of white substances believed to be methamphetamine.
In Tamavua, a man in his 30s was arrested after he was allegedly found with dried leaves and a zip lock plastic containing seeds all believed to be marijuana.
In Narere, a man also in his 30s was arrested following the discovery of several sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
ACP Diru said in Suva, officers again focused their attention at the carrier stand, whereby a man in his 40s was arrested following the discovery of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
In the Eastern Division, a man in his 50s was arrested in Korovou Town following the discovery of several bullets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
In the Northern Division, a man in his 20s was arrested following the discovery of zip lock plastics containing white substances believed to be methamphetamine.
All seized substances have been sent for analysis as investigations continue.
