51 year old woman charged for scam

A 51 year old woman has been charged by the Fiji Police Cybercrime task force for an alleged case of obtaining financial advantage by deception.

The accused is alleged to have on the 1st day of September 2023, dishonestly obtained close to $1000 from the victim for an investment opportunity.

The victim had facilitated the payment via online banking, and when she failed to receive her profit of $5000 as promised, a report was lodged at the Nabua Police Station.

The victim who resides in Lami has been charged with one count of Obtaining Financial Advantage by Deception and will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today.
