27 year old charged for scam

A 27-year-old supervisor of Korovuto, Nadi has been charged yesterday for Obtaining Financial advantage.

Investigations by the Fiji Police M-Paisa Task Force Team revealed that on 30/01/23, the accused with another dishonestly obtained $600.00 from a member of a public through mpaisa platform. 

The victim transferred the said money to accused for investment payment as advertised on Facebook. 

Upon receiving the said money, the accused mobile number was blocked by Vodafone and there was no money transferred back to victim.

The matter was then reported at Nakasi Police Station 

The 27-year-old is in Police custody at the moment and will appear at Nadi Magistrate court today (10/01/25) at 02.00pm.
