Officers complete course in Thailand

Congratulations to Sergeant (Sgt) 4943 Netava Yalayala, Police Constable (PC) 2936 Kalivati Turaga and PC 4995 Simon Chand for the completion of the Basic Investigation of Computers and Electronic Crime program.

The three officers attended a 5-day course from the 09th to 13th December 2024 at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The ILEA in Bangkok, Thailand, was established on September 30, 1998, as a collaborative initiative between the United States and the Royal Thai Government.

The academy was created to enhance international cooperation in combating transnational crime, particularly in Southeast Asia.

This initiative arose from the recognition of increasing regional crime challenges, such as drug trafficking, financial crimes, and human trafficking, necessitating a structured approach to law enforcement training and collaboration.

The Acting Commissioner Juki Fong Chew, the Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime (ACPC) Mesake Waqa, Director International Relations Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula and afew other officers have also attended courses at ILEA.

The Fiji Police Force sends its appreciation to the United States Government through its US Embassy, Suva for their support and facilitation.
