Two men arrested in possession of Illicit drugs

Two men were arrested this morning for being in possession of illicit drugs.

A joint raid by Fiji Police and Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU) was conducted this morning at Wailea, Vatuwaqa, where both the suspects were caught with 10 dried loose branches believed to be marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu said the raid was conducted around 02.00am this morning.

“With the assistance of our K-9 capabilities from the FDDU, the team managed to locate the said drugs without much trouble,” said ACP Driu.

He said Police will continue to conduct drug raids, do checks at checkpoints and on people loitering around during odd hours of the night. ACP Driu said the two suspects are currently in Police Custody as Investigation continues.
