Claims to be investigated

The Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew has directed an investigation into an incident where a police officer had allegedly assaulted a man in Nausori over the weekend.

The Acting Commissioner has directed the Director Internal Affairs to look into the claims of assault made against the officer, assuring the family and members of the public of the conduct of a thorough investigation.

Acting Commissioner Chew said officers are constantly reminded to uphold the rule of law in the execution of their duties as they are all equally answerable to the law.
