Charged for Scam

A 39-year-old man has been charged by the Fiji Police Mpaisa task force for an alleged case of obtaining financial advantage.

The accused is alleged to have on the 21st of January 2023, dishonestly obtained $190 from a member of a public through the mobile money transfer platform.

Police Investigation revealed that the victim had sent $190 to the accused as a deposit for a rental car advertised on Facebook. 

The accused allegedly withdrew the money and cut off all communication.

The accused who resides in Nakasi was charged, and will be produced at the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.
