Two men arrested through public information


Two men were arrested in less than half an hour of a report received for their alleged involvement in a burglary in Lautoka on the 3rd of June following information received through Crime Stoppers Fiji.

Chief Operations Officer (COO) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan says the two are alleged to have broken into a business premises along Vitogo Parade after 1am in the morning.

The two allegedly stole a till, cash and other items which have all been recovered.

The two men both in their 20s were arrested outside the premises and taken into Police custody for questioning.

They have since been charged with one count of aggravated burglary and theft each, and will be produced at the Lautoka Magistrates Court tomorrow.

ACP Khan has commended the support and cooperation of members of the public who continue to share information about alleged criminal activities either through the 917 Police Emergency line or the 919 Crimestoppers line.
