RAILESUVA NOMU I TEKITEKIVU

The Fiji Police’s Community Policing Awareness Outreach underway in Kadavu with the theme “ RAILESUVA NOMU I TEKITEKIVU’’ is also targeting schools with the intent of enhancing student’s awareness on the consequences of getting involved in illegal activities.

Director Community Policing Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bereta Naisua has been urgeling students to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them.

She called on the students not to get involved in illegal activities and to work hard on making their parents and guardians proud by completing their educational journey.

SSP Naisua said the Community Policing visitation was focused on educating and empowering the community of Kadavu to work together in eradicating the illegal cultivation of marijuana which has now become a major issue on the island.

She said for students today, there are many external pressures that could derail their education and reminded them to remain focused and to keep in mind the guidance and teachings from their parents and guardians.

Also part of the Awareness is the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Government Stakeholders in Kadavu, Kadavu Provincial Council representatives, various Church representatives for a holistic collaborative engagement approach to address issues of concern on the island.

Officers from the Drugs and Sexual Offences Unit also addressed students.
