Funeral of Constable Mami


Members of the Qelewaqa Settlement in Labasa gathered in numbers this morning to farewell Police Constable (PC) 2913 Salesh Mani who was called to eternal rest on the 26th of March.

The Fiji Police Force delegation led by the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho along with the Northern Division Police Management paid their last respects to the fallen officer who was fondly remembered not only as a dedicated and loyal member of the organization but one who was actively engaged in his community.

Delivering the eulogy on behalf of the Fiji Police Force was Superintendent of Police (SP) Eroni Soqosoqo who said PC Mani had joined the Fiji Police Force in May 1998 and had served around the Northern Division and also at the Intelligence Bureau at Police Headquarters.

PC Mani was also involved in charity work and had assisted many members of his community during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The late PC Mani provided monthly assistance to more than 46 families in terms of basic food items.

Despite the heavy downpour, members of the community gathered to farewell an officer who they described had a big heart.

PC Mani is survived by his wife Karalaini and three children. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
