National Certificate of Teaching

The Fiji Police Academy has achieved another milestone following the official opening of the National Certificate of Teaching in Technical Vocational Education Training [TVET] at the Fiji Police Academy in Nasova.

The training facilitated by Fulton College will be conducted over four months in an effort to enhance the capabilities of the forty trainers based at the Fiji Police Academy.

Chief of Intelligence and Investigation Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Biu Matavou acknowledged the support provided by Fulton College in facilitating the training as it will benefit Police officers who aspire to attain a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Policing which will be recognized locally and internationally.

He added that after the newly modified courses and the training of trainer course is completed and recognized by the Fiji Higher Education Commission, the Academy’s reputation as a leading Police training institution in the region will be further boosted.

ACP Matavou had also highlighted that with the advent of technology- the organization’s ability to offer courses to their regional law enforcement brothers and sisters becomes more exciting.

The training is also in line with the Commissioner’s intent on improving learning opportunities and capabilities for Police Officers in order to effectively tackle emerging policing challenges.

The training starts on Monday and will be conducted online due to COVD 19 restrictions.
