SUDAN GROUP PRESENTS ITATAU
The eight police officers who will be leaving for Sudan in a short while were reminded yesterday morning by the Commissioner of Police Commodore Esala Teleni to look after their family and do their work diligently while serving their one year stint in Sudan.
Speaking to the men and their families at the Officers’ Mess today, Commodore Teleni says most officers have the wrong perception on serving in overseas mission. He says most officers think these missions were a chance to make money and this is wrong.
He says officers can make money in Fiji, but overseas missions is an opportunity Fijian officers contribute to the stability and peace in the world.
He adds that it is very important that officers look after their families while in Sudan and for their families in Fiji to look after them.
Commodore Teleni adds that it is very important for the officers to focus on their work and families while in Sudan and nothing else.
