SAINT MICHEALS FEAST DAY – A SUCCESS
The Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva was filled to capacity on Monday evening as Catholic members of the Fiji Police Force and their counterparts from the two other disciplinary services – military and prisons came to gather to celebrate Arch – Angel - Saint Micheal’s Feast Day their patron saint.
The Holy Mass started at 6 pm with the chief celebrant being the Archbishop of Suva – Petero Mataca.
In his homily, His Grace reminded members of the disciplinary forces to be diligent and hardworking. He says in this modern age, they will face a lot of challenges in their work and it is in this kind of situation that they should always reflect on their patron saint.
This year the event was organized by the Fiji Police Force.
There was a feast in the Crypt after the Holy Mass after traditional welcoming ceremony was done. The members of Saint Micheal Association also presented His Grace with a walking stick.
