The Police Soccer IDC kicked off at the Nasova Grounds on thursday (16/10) with a total of eight teams from around the country participating. The Vodafone sponsored tournament was officially opened by Vodafone Manager Corporate Social Responsibility, Lenora Qereqeretabua.
In opening the three day tournament, Lenora assured members of the Fiji Police of Vodafone’s commitment in future tournaments.
Western 1, featuring current Ba and Lautoka reps looks set to grab the title after a convincing 3 nil win against Western 2 in the opening game. The only team from the North was judged the Best dressed team during the official opening.
The climax of the tournament would be the naming of the team that will represent the Fiji Police Force in the coming Sukuna Bowl challenge against our brothers from the Military which is scheduled on 24th November 2008.
