READY ACTION UNIT – ‘TOUGH GOING 2008’
The Ready Action Unit took a new step in its’ effort to fight crime when personnel from the unit took part in a Tough Going exercise on Thursday (21/11/08).
The RAU were divided into five different groups – Blue, Red, Gold, Green and Headquarters.
The exercise started at 6am from the RAU base at 8 miles and includes participants taking part in the shooting competition at the RFMF shooting range before they proceeded on to Lami where they boarded a boat to take them to the beacon at the Suva Bay.
The team members were then required to swim ashore and immediately sat for a paper at the FPA. After the paper they then proceeded to Muanikau Police Post and also other police post along the route to RAF headquarters solving obstacles on the way.
The competition ended at 5.30pm with RED UNIT winning the overall points.
