The Work Based Learning Programme run by the Fiji Police Academy has begun in Vanua Levu and is being sat by around 65 participants from around stations within the Northern Region.

Coordinating the workshop within the Northern Region is Assistant Superintendent of Police, Pene Hare from the Fiji Police Academy who said the five day workshop is aimed at Special Constables who have not undergone the Basic Recruits Programme.

Acting Training Officer/ Northern, Police Constable Dharmend said that through this workshop SC's are given an outlook and a scratch on the surface of their roles in the police stations they serve in.

The course is being run at the Labasa Police Training Room and participants are expected to return to their individual stations with knowledge they have acquired which will fully furnish their knowhow in dealing with day to day customers.
